SIR
EDMUND HILLARY ROUTE, EVEREST BASE CAMP
This 3 weeks trek follows the old and ancient
route to Mt.Everest as Sir Edmund Hillary and
Mr. Tenzing Sherpa took in 1952. A seven hours
drive will bring you to Jiri, from where you will
start the trek. The route passes through the Sherpa
villages of Solu-Khumbu area through beautiful
forests farming country and several monasteries.
Once past Lukla we climb to Namche, the main trading
village of the Khumbu area: continuing on via
Thyangboche monastery to Pherche, Lobuche, The
trekkers have the opportunity to climb Kala Pathar
(5,545m), overlooking the Base Camp area and offering
superb view of Everest (88848m), Lhotse (8511m),
Nuptse (7889m) and Makalu (8,475m). A half an
hour flight from Lukla will take you back to Kathmandu.
