ROLWALING V ALLEY & PACHARMO PEAK

The Rolwaling Valley, lying close to the border with Tibet between Tama Koshi and the Khumbu Himal has, for many years, been closed to trekkers. However, it is now possible to trek in this once forbidden region provided one has permission to climb one of the two trekking peaks in the area-Ramdung or Parchamo. In our itinerary we include Parchamo (20,581ft) which lies above the Tesi Laptsa Pass (18,881ft) that connects the Rolwaling with the Khumbu. This routing has to be one of the most spectacular in the Nepal Himalaya but both the Mountain and the pass do require one to have previous climbing experience.
