Trekking Peak Climbing Grades

Easy climb-which are generally on low-angle snow or straight forward scrambling on rocks with objective danger where a mountaineering ice-axe will be carried and crampons may be used (depending on the prevailing conditions). Ropes are usually not used except on short, steeper section of the climb.


Generally either a steeper snow or ice slope climb or an additional factor, such as long trekking day, high pass, presence of crevassed sections of glacier for which crampons and ice-axe will be used and ropes are fixed on steeper section of the climb and the group members may, at times will be roped together. Short, steep section of snow or ice upto about 45-50 degree and good cardio-vascular fitness for which most people require by some training hiking, and perhaps some gym work and previous climbing is usually preferred but not essential.
