MAKALU II ( Kangchugtse- 7678m / 25190ft)

The massif of Makalu, lying in northeast region of Nepal, the northern summit of Makalu l; Kangchungtse or Makalu II (7,678m), was first climbed in 1954 by two French men, Franco and Terry via Normal route and thereafter often by other expedition groups. The standard route upto 7400m Makalu Col follows the same as Makalu I, which then climbs the gently-angled but not totally straightforward South Ridge to the summit.

Cost includes:

  • 4 nights hotel accommodation on twin sharing bed & breakfast basis in Kathmandu ,
  • Permit fee of Mt. Makalu II.
  • Flight ticket: Ktm/Tumlingtar/Ktm
  • Transportation of all food supply & other equipments from Kathmandu to Base Camp & back to Kathmandu ,
  • 1 high altitude climbing Sherpa for every 3 member,
  • 1 Base Camp cook, 1 Kitchen boy, 1 Government Liaison officer,
  • Equipment allowance, daily wages, insurance, & other logistical transportation for above mentioned staffs & Liaison officer,
  • All food & accommodation for member & Sherpa staffs throughout the expedition period
  • All transfers from airport to hotel-airport & related transfers,
  • 1 high quality tent p/member at Base Camp, staff tent, chair table, foam mattress, toilet tent, shower tent, dining tent, & Kitchen tent,
  • 32 kg weight per member for coming back from BC to Beshishar,
  • Agency service charge, related administrative fees & Conservation park fee,
  • Emergency Helicopter rescue arrangements,
  • Last farewell dinner with the expedition staffs,

Cost excludes:

  • Air travel to/from Nepal ,
  • Lunch & dinner in Kathmandu ,
  • Drinks, laundry, postage, telephone bills, all items of personal nature,
  • Custom duties on expedition goods if arrived by air cargo to Nepal ,
  • High altitude food, fuel, climbing equipment for member & sherpa,
  • Departure tax at Kathmandu int'l airport,
  • Personal travel, Accidental & Medical insurance of member,
  • Emergency rescue evacuations if required,
  • Respective expenses if one returns earlier from the expedition due to sickness or emergency purpose.
